Fed: Doubling first home-buyers' grant a "band-aid" - Symonds

The head of Aussie Home Loans says doubling the first home buyers' grant would be just
another band-aid solution to the housing affordability crisis.

JOHN SYMONDS says federal and state governments are responsible for the affordability
crisis .. and they're doing very little about it.

He's told the Ten Network the states are grabbing billions of dollars in taxes and
stamp duties .. and being overly bureaucratic in the release of land.

And he says Canberra's taking billions more from the real estate appreciation and taxes.
